Ecobuild

Ecobuild is the world's biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment. Held in the ExCeL Arena, London, it attracts 850+ exhibitors and thousands of visitors every year. At this year’s event, which ran from 5-7 March 2013, Peter Thorns, Head of Strategic Lighting at Thorn, delivered an engaging seminar on Lighting and The New UK Buildings Regulations.

The seminar was delivered as part of the new Evolution of Light exhibition, in association with Photonstar, which provided a comprehensive three-day seminar programme covering many issues affecting the lighting industry. As part of this programme, Peter covered and in turn simplified Part B and Part L of the 2013 building regulations revision. He also explained the expected changes when the new regulations are announced in April, including how to calculate and use the Lighting Energy Numeric Indicator (LENI), which is new to building regulations and provides more flexibility in lighting design.
