Cooperation with Borussia Dortmund rewards Thorn customers and partners

Thorn is embarking on a programme of activities to strengthen its presence in the key lighting markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  The aim of this strategic growth initiative is to gain significant market shares during the next three to five years.  One of the main pillars of these activities is a partnership between the Zumtobel Group and Borussia Dortmund, one of the leading German football clubs in the Bundesliga. Thorn, as a brand of the Zumtobel Group, will leverage this partnership in the market to show and grow Thorn's presence through an incentive programme and additional promotional activities.

London, August 2014 -  Thorn looks forward to shaping the partnership with Borussia Dortmund in the following years and as part of the cooperation will be involved in lighting schemes in and around the stadium. Thorn will use the partnership as a platform to connect with customers and partners, who will also be able to register in an incentive scheme that rewards the achievement of stock and sales targets. The lounge at the stadium will be used for workshops, symposiums and other events. Thorn has an existing customer programme, the Thorn Energy Partnership, which is aimed at installers and contractors as well as outdoor lighting partners. An incentive programme based on the Borussia Dortmund partnership will be created with the aim to reward Thorn Energy Partners for project achievements, which focus especially on energy efficient lighting.

In the UK, Thorn is the lighting provider for a national stadium for indoor as well as outdoor lighting. The latest sports lighting project completed by Thorn is the Allianz Riviera Stadium, Nice, in preparation of the UEFA European Championships 2016 in France.
